I have been on eHarmony for 6 months. My reviews are somewhat mixed for this site. I have been on several dates, and I will admit that the process greatly improved my chances of being matched with someone who is serious about dating and finding a lifetime partner. That being said, I have to agree with others posts that you frequently get 'matched' with others who are either no longer active in the system, are pursuing other relationships, or are not paid members. I figured out a 'way' to weed them out - I would look at a profile and if that person looked at my profile within 48 hours, I knew it was an active member. The bottom line is, despite taking an exhaustive psychological profile, and using the "29 points of compatibility", even a computer system cannot predict chemistry. You either have it, or you don't. I have met some nice guys and some not so nice guys through this site, just like the other dating sites. Overall, I would not recommend this site unless you really are willing to spend hundreds of dollars to achieve very little results.

I used EH for 6 months. Communicated with some matches but never met anyone! After I canceled my membership, they still sent me matches, and some "poor" mathces requested communication with me. I did not do any research before I joined in, but after this, I searched online for reviews of EH, and found amazingly, there have been many people who have similar experience to mine, i.e. despite that they are no longer members, they still get matches and some of them try to communicate with the "no longer existing" members! This also explains why I sent out request communication, and seldom get response back! So EH essentially tries to make you think you have lots of choices, but in reality, it is not true. I'm very disappointed about EH. They do have great publicity, making ads all over the TV, which might explain where they spend most of the money.

Overall I think that e-Harmony is a good site. They just upgraded the look of the site and in my point of view, they need to do more. i.e. It is not easy to keep track of matches and their E-Mails. On the upside, it seems as if people on there are serious and you get less scammers.

One major flaw is that after the intial quiz, the software does not make adjustments to your matches based upon your response to your matches. I keep getting 300 lb gorillas with kids when I weigh 145 and have no kids. There is room for much improvement.

I do believe that if you give it a lot of time 6-12 mths, you'll find someone.
