e-harmony dating
Here’s a revealing review from a client of mine and pretty much sums up what I hear from everyone:

I signed up for a three month membership through e-Harmony. I was sent initially several matches. Surprisingly of the ones i was slightly interested in none responded to requests for communication. Of the few that i did make initial contact with it was terribly obvious during our first date that we had no chemistry and our personalities were oil and water!

Here comes the good part. I let my subscription expire…I didn’t cancel it. I still get matches in my email even though my account is not active! Which of course makes me think..hmmm….of all the supposed matches they sent me I wonder just how many did not have an active account????

I made a very nasty phone call to e-Harmony who coughed up a free three month extension. I have gotten total squat for matches. Again the same scenario…no communication, matches that are totally out of line. I am sure that when these three months expire then I will suddenly get a few matches worth looking at in the hopes that I will renew my membership.

I plan to call and ask “What percentage of your members report a successful long term relationship after being matched by your system?” and “What percentage of us report that your service is garbage and a waste of our money”??? I would also like to know if the commercial engagements and marriages are actors or actual matches through e-Harmony?

Regardless…it is sad and unfortunate that e-Harmony is commercializing on the fact of life that we all need and want someone special to love and cherish.

Save your time/money, avoid e-Harmony and stick with top dating sites like Match and Perfect Match.

I joined eHarmony and found it a lot of work for little reward, getting closed and not being able to really communicate without “canned” answers. I was about to close my matches when I got a promising one. We made it to open communication and really hit it off. He drove 450 miles one weekend (each way) just to meet me. We dated long distance and I was so excited that this was actually working! Then he dropped a bomb: “I’m bi-sexual and don’t want to give up seeking couples to have sex with.” Wow. Wasn’t expecting that. Soon after, he added a mulitude of reasons, including the mafia (among others), to end our relationship. What a painful waste of time. eHarmony scares me, especially since it is understood that the people involved are looking for a long term committed relationship, not bi-sexual sex with a multitude of partners. If I had wanted that, I would have signed up for a totally different kind of dating service.

Yes, I totally agree, E-harmony is a total rip-off and I cannot locate the corporate address to enable me to cancel before I am automatically signed up for another month of service. The creepy men that they matched me with were not my type nor were the men attractive, an indication as to why they are having trouble finding a suitable partner when there is a male shortage nationwide. The service at E-harmony sucks!

  3. User Review # 89

While reading the comments; I noticed most of them were from ladies. Well ladies if you thought that you’ve heard it all - listen up!

I am a divorced 51 year old grandma of 2. About six years ago “while I was still married”, I had a run in with e-harmony. I was playing on my computer when a pop-up told me that I had a match. Through research I found out that my husband had been using their service to find vulnerable women. The woman he is now living with was one of them. I wrote eharmony and informed them that he was definitely not single.

They were totally uninterested in my discovery and I was just in shock that weren’t doing background checks like Match and the other dating services were. So ladies, be careful and use a reputable dating service.
