Here’s a revealing review from a client of mine and pretty much sums up what I hear from everyone:
I signed up for a three month membership through e-Harmony. I was sent initially several matches. Surprisingly of the ones i was slightly interested in none responded to requests for communication. Of the few that i did make initial contact with it was terribly obvious during our first date that we had no chemistry and our personalities were oil and water!
Here comes the good part. I let my subscription expire…I didn’t cancel it. I still get matches in my email even though my account is not active! Which of course makes me think..hmmm….of all the supposed matches they sent me I wonder just how many did not have an active account????
I made a very nasty phone call to e-Harmony who coughed up a free three month extension. I have gotten total squat for matches. Again the same scenario…no communication, matches that are totally out of line. I am sure that when these three months expire then I will suddenly get a few matches worth looking at in the hopes that I will renew my membership.
I plan to call and ask “What percentage of your members report a successful long term relationship after being matched by your system?” and “What percentage of us report that your service is garbage and a waste of our money”??? I would also like to know if the commercial engagements and marriages are actors or actual matches through e-Harmony?
Regardless…it is sad and unfortunate that e-Harmony is commercializing on the fact of life that we all need and want someone special to love and cherish.
Save your time/money, avoid e-Harmony and stick with top dating sites like Match and Perfect Match.

Hi, I've been a matchmaker for many years and have experience with just about every dating site out there. I have thoroughly reviewed and rated the best
I found eHarmony to be a complete fraud. Very few matches were sent while I was a paying member but as soon as I cancelled and my subscription ran out, I received 7 in one day of people very close to where I live. Of course, in order to see them I had to pay again which I did not do. Then I received requests for communication from members. Hoax. They hve a racket as we can never see who the members are—only trust them that they are matching us like the old pre-arranged relationships of years ago.
The few matches I did receive appeared not to be active members. In some cases, I would receive notice of “match found”, go to the site and that person had already “closed” which made no sense at all. I truly feel they are taking our money and doing very little to earn it.
Who knows how to bring justice for this? Anyone? Where do we go from here?
After reading all of these comments and not recieving any replies of my own , i also wonder if this is worth my time, money and frustration.I was hoping that e-harmony was one service that we all could trust, but as i read these comments tonight….well,it just proved us all that we were suckered, when we are truely trying to find a”SOUL-MATE”[AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE OUT THERE!] To the one that started e-harmony,i have til August til my subscription runs out, then if nothing happens…..BBB will be called!
Beware of joining! I foolishly signed up for a year’s membership thinking I could cancel any time. I wanted to cancel after a month. Pay the full month’s rate, and get a refund for the year’s subscription. Not so. Customer Service is like a broken record: No refunds. period. They promised they wouldn’t charge me more beyond the year. Big deal, and I’m not sure I believe them. My circumstances have changed (I’m now caring for my mother) and won’t be dating for the near future. There is no way to contact the company directly or talk to a supervisor. I can write a letter to a po box, but am expecting the same answer (if they respond at all.) Am completely disatisfied with the service, or rather lack of service. The worst.
