As an older person using eharmony the experience has not been good, sometimes weeks without a match and of the few I have had each man has up to 200, yes two hundred ladies on his match list. This does not work for me.

eHarmony is great.

Nothing beats the internet + brute force search algorithm combo if you're looking for something hard to find.

The extraverted IQ100 drool dispensers humping my leg in bars and dance clubs weren't doing it for me--and the time honored strategy of smiling at shy boys in math class in case they maybe ask me out someday only to find out that we're marginally compatible at best was TOO SLOW.

So...I tried eHarmony. On my first go, I made the filter too broad I think, and was inundated with more matches than I had time to read about. (including a guy I had a crush on in high school, and a guy I had dated for 2 and a half years, and almost married.) I met some of the best people I've ever known through eHarmony...but ended up leaving the state for a job.

On my second go, I took the opposite approach--configured my search to be extremely picky about everything I care about. I didn't expect to hear from anyone at all really...but I met my husband.

It was a pleasant surprise to find that eHarmony matches people according to energy level...when we first met, my husband and I were a little surprised that we could keep up with each other. The more similar your values are, the fewer things there are to fight about too--this has been a very smooth marriage so far.

I have subscribed to Perfectmatch, eHarmony and Chemistry.com. I definitely have had more numerous and better-matched dates using eHarmony. I didn't have even one date using Chemistry.com and only had 2 dates using Perfectmatch. EHarmony sends me about 8 matches per day and so far I have met some very nice men.
