Re Denise: "It's like speed dating on the net!" I completely have to disagree with you that you think online dating is like speed dating on the net. It's not at all like speed dating. Speed dating you don't even know absolutely anything about him or her and you don't even know what they look like until the "speed dates" start. Whereas online dating you obviously have the profile that obviously tells you about him or her as long as they actually take the time to fill out all the profiles, put up their pictures. Then you obviously start chatting.

I've been doing Match for about a month now. I like that it's really easy to use and also has an iPhone app. And I like that it gives you 5 matches per day in addition to whatever personal search you may perform. The only thing is, MOST of the time I've already seen the matches they provide, but it's still nice when they stumble acorss someone you haven't. I think the only main drawback is that once you weed through the people on the site in your search criteria, you have to wait for new people to join to have more options. So, they'll be 3-5 new people each day that just joined. Other than that it's the same ol' same ol'. I've had one awful date with a guy who completely lied about his height, body type, everything. Then another with a pretty cool guy but it just didn't go anywhere after a couple of dates - turned out we didn't have much in common. And I've had a few phone conversations with people but no real sparks so far. I have a 6 month membership so we'll see. I'm not holding my breath though. It seems like all of the people I'm interested in don't respond, and all of the people who email me aren't people I'm interested in. All in all - dating sites are a good way to meet people if you have a busy schedule like I do....

I like match over eharmony and some of the other pay sites because of their matching process. I have met some good people there. To me, the cost of membership keeps the weirdos away and makes the site safer for online dating.
