Lots of people, guys and girls, recommend Plenty of Fish online dating (which I dub Plenty-Of-Flesh) because it’s free. I’ve been a member there twice now, and I haven’t been impressed either time.
The site places a lot of emphasis on photos, which has led to people judging one another not by their messages, but solely by looks. I’m not impressed with the forum moderator either, who has a firm yet obnoxious and stuck-up attitude to posts that raise questionable suggestions issues, even with the site.
Many of the people there have been rude and/or full of hot air, both in the forums and through messaging. Even the friendliest of messages went ignored - the sent messages list proved extremely helpful in finding out just where they were going.
Plenty of Fish advertises itself as a dating site, which is my biggest disappointment: the only people who’d enjoy Plenty of Fish are the average loud, outgoing people who already have “great” lives and have no intention of being serious.
As with most other places I’d suggest someone experience it for themselves, if only for them to reach their own conclusion. I’ve had much better results with Match and Perfect Match.

Hi, I've been a matchmaker for many years and have experience with just about every dating site out there. I have thoroughly reviewed and rated the best
Obviously, the jerk who runs pof has some business sense, however, when it comes to running a stable inter-sociable site geared towards balance of all involved..he falls way short, & shall reap what he sows. I was kicked off with no reason. I can assure you that I am not the kind of person to be getting ugly with people that don’t deserve it. This little boy thinks he is running some kind of kingdom. Got news for him. Any one can do it. Beware..if you do get on the site, he can & will delete your profile & ban you from his site, at any time, for any thing. You’ve been warned. Markus Frind is ugly to look at, & his wife is pretty, so, she probably married him for money, & it probably explains why he is so antisocial with his rules of just kicking people out with no warning, or some type of buffer for a problematic member who is consistently “telling” on someone to get them kicked off.
I thought that I was the only one that thought that POF site was a piece of garbage. I went to one of their little parties, and it was a joke. There was the central table, where grown adults were doing beer bongs (I am open minded as the next one, but the guys and girls were acting like it was a frat party, sorry if this offends anyone, and also, the men were french kissing each other, and the women were doing lap dances on each other). I agree with the stated reviews: a bunch of immature players, drug addicts, alcoholics, and felons who are on the site for sex and partying. Thanks again for stating the obvious. I am currently on a pay site, and the quality of people seem better. Take care.
John
I used to be POF member. At first I thought it was different than the pay sites. There was so much interaction with other people especially in the forums that made the pay sites seem stagnant, stale and boring. However as time went on I beagn to notice that they’re a lot of creeps on that site. You have a lot of people on there that have nothing better to do and so much free time. It seems like they don’t have a social life and are basically on there to have their over inflated ego stroked. The site is full of both egotistical, mean, snobbish, and stuck up people (both men and women). A lot of the times they do nothing but slam and bash one another. The forum moderators are a bunch of anal, stuck up prima donnas. They’re anything but impartial. They can make your life a living hell if they don’t like you over any trivial, BS reason. One forum moderator that comes to mind goes by the profile name Late. He is one of the more arrogant, snobbish, and cantankerous moderators with an attitude problem. After several months on the site I decided to pack it in and never to return. I would never recommend POF to anyone who is looking for a serious relationship. They’re too many players on there with a flippant attitude who aren’t serious about anything except to feed their voracious, inflated egos. Talk about being legends in their own minds.
