Lots of people, guys and girls, recommend Plenty of Fish online dating (which I dub Plenty-Of-Flesh) because it’s free. I’ve been a member there twice now, and I haven’t been impressed either time.
The site places a lot of emphasis on photos, which has led to people judging one another not by their messages, but solely by looks. I’m not impressed with the forum moderator either, who has a firm yet obnoxious and stuck-up attitude to posts that raise questionable suggestions issues, even with the site.
Many of the people there have been rude and/or full of hot air, both in the forums and through messaging. Even the friendliest of messages went ignored - the sent messages list proved extremely helpful in finding out just where they were going.
Plenty of Fish advertises itself as a dating site, which is my biggest disappointment: the only people who’d enjoy Plenty of Fish are the average loud, outgoing people who already have “great” lives and have no intention of being serious.
As with most other places I’d suggest someone experience it for themselves, if only for them to reach their own conclusion. I’ve had much better results with Match and Perfect Match.

I have to agree with reviewer #153 that Plenty of Fish is a site that’s full of gold diggers and women seeking sugar daddies. But you have other women on there that have no intention of dating and are on there for ego boost and eye candy. I always that favorites thing was stupid and overrated. Another thing that I want to agree with reviewer #153 is that a lot of the women are rude, egotistical, stuck up, and snobbish. I know that a lot of them have an attitude problem. Most are not honest and sincere. It’s funny how they contradict themselves that they want someone who is honest and sincere when they themselves aren’t. What a bunch of BS. Alot of women even lie about their age and height. I’ve noticed how they like to make themselves younger and taller than they really are. I noticed that a lot of them are players too. Especially when they state in their profiles that they’re not looking for someone who is a player or plays games. What a bunch of self serving hypocrits. But that’s the women on POF all about themsleves. The women on POF aren’t the friendliest, the most sincere nor the nicest. To me Plenty of Fish is not worth my time or energy. I deserve better. Afterall, I’m a college educated, professional, attractive male in his early 30’s. I have a steady professional job and I own my own house. But POF is free so you get what you pay for. Don’t go on POF to have high hopes or high expectations. You’ll only disappoint yourself. If you’re looking for quality women I would go to the pay sites.
Here is the truth about Plenty of Fish from a mans point of view.
The majority of women on the site are divorced with children.
The majority of women on the site are unemployed and just looking for a man who is employed to support them.
In your profile, women can put up pictures of anything besides themselves,but if a man does, the picture will be deleted.
The moderators play favorites on the forums.
Your profile can be deleted with no explanation.
There are people who have been on that site for a very long time and makes you think that maybe no one is serious about finding someone OR they are just to full of themselves to want anybody.
The women on POF are either gold diggers or are looking for a sugar daddy. Other women that are on there are on for ego boost, head games, and just to be eye candy for the men. Especially the ones that men have listed as their favorites that are in the triple digits. Women seem to wear it like a badge of honor or if it were some status symbol. A lot of them are a bunch of conniving liars that have an attitude problem or are snobbish and stuck up that wouldn’t give you the time of day. I noticed that most women on there are all about themselves. A bunch of “me” women, egotistical snobs. They lie about their work when in reality they are either unemployed or unemployable. Anybody seeking a meaningful relationship should avoid POF.
