Lots of people, guys and girls, recommend Plenty of Fish online dating (which I dub Plenty-Of-Flesh) because it’s free. I’ve been a member there twice now, and I haven’t been impressed either time.
The site places a lot of emphasis on photos, which has led to people judging one another not by their messages, but solely by looks. I’m not impressed with the forum moderator either, who has a firm yet obnoxious and stuck-up attitude to posts that raise questionable suggestions issues, even with the site.
Many of the people there have been rude and/or full of hot air, both in the forums and through messaging. Even the friendliest of messages went ignored - the sent messages list proved extremely helpful in finding out just where they were going.
Plenty of Fish advertises itself as a dating site, which is my biggest disappointment: the only people who’d enjoy Plenty of Fish are the average loud, outgoing people who already have “great” lives and have no intention of being serious.
As with most other places I’d suggest someone experience it for themselves, if only for them to reach their own conclusion. I’ve had much better results with Match and Perfect Match.

Correction on my one line in my previous review, “The women on POF are lame and pathetic, just like a lot of the previous posts that I’ve read on here.” I didn’t mean to say that the previous posts on here were lame and pathetic. But, what I was trying to say is that I agree with and acknowledge what a lot of these posts have said about their experience with POF and the people that are on it. I should have proofread my review before submitting it. I also want to add that a lot of women seem to have made internet dating a favorite past time hobby of theirs. When I was on POF I saw the same women over and over on there. I wondered whether these women have a social life or any type of life in the real world. Seems like they’re on there for entertainment purposes.
I’ve noticed how Plenty of Fish is more of a beauty pageant and a popularity contest than a dating site. The women on there have the candor and the honesty that is equivalent to the CIA. They expect you to treat them like the spoiled, bratty princesses that they are. They ignore you no matter how friendly, polite, positive, and decent you are to them. Of course they won’t listen to reason and they all have unrealistic and irrational expectations. They’re only on there to see how many idiotic men will stroke their overinflated egos and make them their favorites (which in itself is a joke). Most of them aren’t serious about dating to begin with. The women on POF are lame and pathetic, just like a lot of the previous posts that I’ve read on here. They’re all about themselves and only in love with themselves. A bunch of self serving, hypocritical, narcissists and egotistical snobs. What a shame!

Seriously I have been on the net for 10 years and I never seen anything so bad. The forums is basically whine to people or bashing each other. Heck I have been to fight rooms on site much tamer than this. The rules really suck, site has bugs, they aren’t organized. Markus the owner claims to work 2 a day. What a bunch of crock. Seriously if you hang in the forums you will go mentally ill eventually I never seen anything like this before.
Btw I never been banned on Plenty of Fish I just closed my account yesterday. I never went there to find people to date anyways, after a week of hanging in the forums I figured wow this place is nuts. lol
