Lots of people, guys and girls, recommend Plenty of Fish online dating (which I dub Plenty-Of-Flesh) because it’s free. I’ve been a member there twice now, and I haven’t been impressed either time.
The site places a lot of emphasis on photos, which has led to people judging one another not by their messages, but solely by looks. I’m not impressed with the forum moderator either, who has a firm yet obnoxious and stuck-up attitude to posts that raise questionable suggestions issues, even with the site.
Many of the people there have been rude and/or full of hot air, both in the forums and through messaging. Even the friendliest of messages went ignored - the sent messages list proved extremely helpful in finding out just where they were going.
Plenty of Fish advertises itself as a dating site, which is my biggest disappointment: the only people who’d enjoy Plenty of Fish are the average loud, outgoing people who already have “great” lives and have no intention of being serious.
As with most other places I’d suggest someone experience it for themselves, if only for them to reach their own conclusion. I’ve had much better results with Match and Perfect Match.

Hi, I've been a matchmaker for many years and have experience with just about every dating site out there. I have thoroughly reviewed and rated the best
LMAO..I think Im in love with USER #146.. I agree with everything you said.
Plenty of Flesh? Nope Plenty of Fuc—-! When I filled out my orginal profile I had no idea what I was getting into. Some of the worst filty talk I’ve ever heard. Also, if you are a female you have no rights. This is truly a men’s club dating site. If you get “to many favorites” (females) You are blocked with instant messenger. Women are to be submissive, and pay dearly for any objections. Since I have refused to chat on Yahoo or Aim with the POF boys I have been kicked to the curb for not complying with the “secret” rules which I might add are not posted. All females beware. It’s a “good old boys club” and then some. It’s all about sex, sex and more sex. If you don’t put out, the word passes fast and no one will email you. If you DO put out everyone knows with a flick of a switch.
The Plenty Of Fish owner in no way can monitor this website as he claims. It is my belief each state has it’s own monitor and is probably paid very well. You are either liked or kicked to the curb, because this site wants women that talk erotic, sensual and live by the male rules. Also, you must be a certain age, body type etc. This site caters to angry, bitter males that have reached midlife and ended up divorced. You’ve been warned!
Sorry to disappoint, but my comments on POF aren’t going to be any more favourable than any of the others.
Being a UK resident, I found that POF was full of wasters, liars, cheats, losers and nut cases. It was the very first dating site I ever joined after losing my Mum and thought it would be a good way of chatting to and meeting like-minded people. Wow was I disillusioned! I met up with a few guys who looked nothing like their pictures, some had lied about age, height, weight etc. Dated a guy for nearly 4 months who turned out to be a lying, sad, emotionally crippled alcoholic - despite saying on his profile that he was honest, kind and caring. What a joke! Shame because these people are only fooling themselves and obviously have no self respect or respect for others. The mods are nazi like in their approach and I think it says it all when the ‘head guy’ Mr Markus is a liar (makes no money from the site and runs it single-handedly out of his apartment). Yeah right, we’re all idiots aren’t we Markus????
So, please take my advice, if you’re looking for a LTR with a genuine, honest, decent, self-respecting person - steer well clear of POF. It is without doubt, the worst dating site ever!
