Plenty of Fish Reviews

by Rod Evans on December 21st, 2009 at 10:53 AM CST
I am a man. A short man. I am however, devastatingly handsome and witty. despite being told by many women that I am wholly undesirable, I still get lots of mail. Sure, 1 out of 10 is one I would date, but they are out there.

Folks like 789, well I'm sure for every shallow man you got, there was probably a normal, nice guy who was willing to date you. But because he was too fat, didn't have a good hairline, was too short, too nice etc. you passed him by.

most folks like you are pissed because the supermodels on the site don't want them. Well that's natural selection....

I doubt this will get read with all of the reviews so far but here it goes.

My experience with POF is I spent 2 weeks on vacation in Florida emailing over 100 profiles and got a few responses.

To me that is what it is, honestly a Complete Waste of Time.

I know it can be addictive in that the obsession and fascination is just to get one decent person to reply. But through Christ I knew this site was not representative of society and delted my profile.

One woman was separated and would not get a divorce, another was only 30 but had been married 3 times, and the other had 4 kids. The women that looked at my profile were not in my area, unhealthy or unattractive and with kids, and would not respond to an email either.

I see it mentioned, 'you get what you pay for'. I think the frustration is in this day and age I would think there are some sites where you can meeet someone without having to pay middlemen. I've seen the same women at 2 different free sites. To me POF represents the 50% of marriages that fail and all it's ramifications. To me the truth is, nice and sweet women would never be on this site. They would not deal with people looking for sex and psychos.

I believe that many profiles on POF are not right. Because many of the women I looked at had the same birth signs, either Capricorn or Cancer. Way too many for the probability .. I really think there is something fishy about POF. If I were to write women in general this might not be the case, but over the 2 week period I only wrote women online.

If you are a decent person, try what you did on POF with real women in society. Starting with an introduction and going from there. I bet the success rate will triple. POF is like a bar and my chances were no better than with a bar.

Lastly, have you ever noticed that after approaching a woman and meeting a few times it can turn into a 1 year ordeal or longer? I think the women on POF see this and know that if they communicate with someone it could turn into anything. So they delete Anything that doesn't seem the best for them.

It is amazing in observation the types of men and habits a woman will accept and take on for a relationship. For all one's quirks and football games with some beer, there are women in real society that will put up with all of it whereas a woman on POF if she really exists at all will just delete an email.

POF is of poor quality (and I think something not on the up and up) because it takes a woman cold enough and possibly stupid enough or desperate enough to deal with the weirdos that write them.

Well this certainly makes me feel a whole lot better! I thought it was just me! This site has to be some sort of MLM plan...The women must get compensated in some way for having a profile up...I mean come on..to totally ignore someone...if it isn't then 99.9% of it is fake or you women are pathetic and deserve to be single and miserable! A complete waste of time and effort to say the least. But like someone else wrote, what do you want for free!
