Bottom Line
Pretty much the bottom of the barrel of dating sites. If "quality" is important, stick with top dating sites like Perfect Match or eHarmony.

Pof doesn't have enough filters to narrow the search results. Easy enough for me to set my own parameters but I can't tell, without reading someones' profile whether I match what they are looking for. For instance, a lot of women specify 6 foot tall required, I'm 5.11 ... there's no reason for me to have to read that profile. It's an issue mostly because of wasted time AND it also makes it harder for women to locate my profile as well. It's really just a big collection of pictures. If you're single without kids, for instance, looking for the same, the "my matches" button will not filter on the kids requirement. ----
This type issues make POF very time consuming and ineffective. On better paid sites, I get many more hits/views and much more interest from women that are more specific to a reasonable match. I get more hits/views/interest simply because I'm easier to find. POF also has the problem of people faking age/height/athletic/job/etc. so there is a lot of false competition. You don't see that as much paid sites as people are more interesting in a decent match rather than a date.

POF is best for people who have a lot of time to kill and more focused on dating. It's closer to my space than a dating site.

POF has a nasty habit of suddenly deleting member profiles with no warning or explaination. I've been on there several times with an appropriate profile, only to try to access the site several days later and find it removed with no record of it in their database. I know several other people this happened to as well. Inquiries to the site (Marcus) go unanswered. You get what you pay for, and in this case since it is free, you don't get much.

The forums are a big joke. There are a few people in that place that go around provoking people and they are constantly reporting people to the mods.

I noticed one of them roadtrips (posts in other local forums) constantly. She makes remarks such as you know this is going to be shown on your profile don't you ? Her rude remarks will show up in hers too but she is so thick.

I agree that site is full of people who were there years ago. In my local forum there is a woman with kids from 2 different fathers and she is obese and under 30 and all the politically correct people are telling her she will find her match when she did her whining recently.

I agree about these mods. They are attention seeking losers. One day I posted that I don't care to eat fast food and that idiot Trappedonbaystreet said that was an attack on fat women. I am not joking. There are a lot losers in my local area and they were offended. I wonder what these fatties do when somebody makes a remark about their fat in person ? It does happen.
